Nipple reduction Book a consultation Information and rates Some people have nipples that are perceived as too long in proportion to the rest of their breast. This can be aesthetically bothersome, but it may also pose practical issues. A relatively minor procedure can shorten the nipple(s) and restore the desired balance. This is called a nipple reduction or long nipple correction. What complaints can occur with long nipples? Long or misshapen nipples usually do not cause physical discomfort; the concern is mainly cosmetic. People may feel their breasts look less attractive, feel self-conscious in the sauna, or be bothered by nipples showing through clothing or swimwear. Most nipples are irregular in shape and vary from person to person. Still, you may wish to correct this irregularity. How do long or misshapen nipples develop? In many cases, it is genetically determined. Nipples can also change after breastfeeding, and this can become more noticeable due to the loss of breast volume. Long nipples are almost always a harmless condition. However, if you notice a change in one breast without a clear cause, we advise you to consult your general practitioner. How much does a nipple reduction cost? Consultation Free Nipple reduction (one side) € 880 Nipple reduction (both sides) € 1155 These prices are all-inclusive: consultation, follow-up check, and, if necessary, additional aftercare. The anesthetic injections may sting briefly, but after that, you will feel little to nothing during the procedure itself. Next, the area is disinfected, and markings are made to indicate exactly what tissue will be removed. After the excess tissue is removed, the wound is closed with non-dissolvable stitches. Finally, the area is cleaned and covered with adhesive bandages. Before and after Nipple reduction after breastfeeding Nipple reduction Nipple reduction Recovery and aftercare Recovery after a nipple reduction The recovery process after a nipple reduction is generally quick and relatively painless. Aftercare and advice following a nipple reduction: When the wounds can get wet in the shower depends on the specific treatment. The doctor will discuss this with you after the procedure. We advise you not to shower for too long and to avoid using very hot water. Clean the area around the wound at least once and no more than twice a day with a mild, fragrance-free, pH-neutral soap or disinfectant soap (such as Sebamed) for six weeks, until the area is fully healed. This can be done in the shower. Always make sure no soap residue remains in the wounds, as it can cause irritation. Any scabs can be gently rinsed off in the shower. After washing, gently pat the area around the wound dry with a clean towel or gauze. Do not apply ointments, petroleum jelly, or similar products on or around the wound. Do not apply wound disinfectants such as Sterilon or Betadine on or around the wound. You may place a gauze pad inside your bra if needed. Avoid contact with swimming water (chlorinated pools, hot tubs, or natural bodies of water) for at least four weeks during the healing process. The use of (steam) baths, saunas, and tanning beds is also strongly discouraged during the first four weeks after the procedure. To prevent infection, always wash your hands with disinfectant soap before caring for the wound. Read more aftercare information here. Other treatments LabiaplastyDuring a labiaplasty, excess tissue is removed to balance the proportion between the inner and outer labia. Labia majora reductionThe outer labia may be enlarged due to excess skin and/or tissue. This excess can be removed. Clitoral hood reductionIn addition to the outer and inner labia, the vulva also includes the clitoral hood. When excess skin is present in this area, it can cause discomfort. Vaginal tighteningAfter childbirth, weight gain, or aging of the muscles around the vaginal area, the vagina may become loose or wider. Perineal skin correctionExcess skin in the perineal area can occur after childbirth, especially if episiotomies (surgical cuts) or spontaneous tears happen during the birthing process. FemiliftThe Femilift is a modern, versatile, minimally invasive outpatient treatment that delivers optimal results for various female concerns. Inverted nipple correctionAn inverted nipple occurs when the nipple is positioned deeper than the surrounding areola. Areola correctionAn areola correction can be performed to reduce, refine, or improve the shape of the areola. Nipple reductionA relatively minor procedure can be performed to shorten the nipple(s) and restore the desired balance.
