Femilift Book a consultation Information and rates The Femilift is a modern, versatile, minimally invasive outpatient treatment that delivers optimal results for various genital concerns, regardless of age or life stage. Femilift uses innovative CO2 laser technology to gently heat the vaginal tissue, causing the fibers to contract and stimulating the production of new collagen. The treatment is quick, painless, safe, and highly effective for: 1. Vaginal dryness This complaint often occurs in women during or after menopause. Vaginal dryness is caused by changes in hormone levels, particularly a decrease in estrogen production. As a result, the vaginal skin becomes thinner, drier, and more sensitive. This condition is known as vulvovaginal atrophy. It can make intercourse painful and may cause bleeding.Due to the dryness, the vagina is also more susceptible to infections. 2. Unintentional urine leakage Stress incontinence is the most common form of involuntary urine leakage. It typically happens when extra pressure is placed on the abdominal area, such as during laughing, sneezing, coughing, or exercising. The cause is a weakening of the supportive tissue around the urethra and a lack of strength in the urethral sphincter, often due to a sagging pelvic floor. Many women assume stress incontinence only affects older women, but it also commonly occurs in younger women, especially young mothers. 3. Vaginal tightening Throughout life, every woman’s body undergoes changes — including the vagina. This may be due to childbirth or hormonal changes. These changes can lead to complaints such as a wider or heavier feeling in the vagina and reduced sensitivity during intercourse. What does a Femilift treatment do for these complaints? A Femilift treatment restores the vaginal wall and improves blood circulation. This promotes the formation of healthy tissue and helps normalize the vaginal pH. In addition, the treatment tightens and firms the vaginal wall, making the vagina feel narrower and increasing sensitivity during intercourse. Femilift treats the entire area: it provides extra support to the urethra, strengthens and thickens the vaginal wall, and reinforces the pelvic floor. As a result, symptoms such as vaginal dryness, unwanted urine leakage, and a loss of tightness are significantly reduced — and in many cases, completely resolved. A Femilift treatment is a short laser procedure lasting no more than 15 minutes. Before the treatment, a numbing spray is applied. During the procedure, a probe is inserted into the vagina. This allows us to treat the tissue as gently as possible. Before your first treatment, you will purchase your own personal probe, which you can bring and reuse for follow-up sessions. During the treatment, the probe is rotated 360 degrees to treat the entire vaginal wall. The procedure is virtually painless, although you may feel a warming sensation. For the best and most lasting results, we recommend 3 to 4 treatments, preferably spaced 6 weeks apart. After that, we advise returning once a year for a maintenance session to preserve the treatment’s effect. You can immediately resume your daily routine. You may experience watery or bloody discharge for up to 7 days after the treatment. This is normal. If you notice discharge, use sanitary pads; the use of tampons is not recommended. On the first day, you may feel a slight burning sensation when using the toilet. We advise avoiding sexual activity and not rinsing the vagina internally for the first 3 to 7 days, or as long as the discharge persists. Please note: this treatment is only performed at our location in Leiden. Other treatments LabiaplastyDuring a labiaplasty, excess tissue is removed to balance the proportion between the inner and outer labia. Labia majora reductionThe outer labia may be enlarged due to excess skin and/or tissue. This excess can be removed. Clitoral hood reductionIn addition to the outer and inner labia, the vulva also includes the clitoral hood. When excess skin is present in this area, it can cause discomfort. Vaginal tighteningAfter childbirth, weight gain, or aging of the muscles around the vaginal area, the vagina may become loose or wider. Perineal skin correctionExcess skin in the perineal area can occur after childbirth, especially if episiotomies (surgical cuts) or spontaneous tears happen during the birthing process.
