They will advise how many days before the procedure you should stop taking them. In exceptional cases, you may continue using blood thinners, but only after consultation with the treating medical specialist. Ibuprofen Stop using Ibuprofen 10 days before and 10 days after the procedure due to its blood-thinning properties. Smoking Nicotine constricts blood vessels, which can lead to complications in wound healing. We strongly advise quitting smoking, preferably 6 weeks before the surgery. Alcohol We recommend avoiding alcohol for several days before and after the procedure. Jewelry You may not wear jewelry during the procedure. Shaving We kindly ask you to shave or remove hair from the pubic area before the procedure. Body lotion On the day of the procedure, do not use any body lotion or oil. These can interfere with the adhesive pads used during the procedure to connect the equipment. Towel We recommend bringing a towel with you on the day of the procedure. By rolling up the towel, it can serve as a pressure bandage during your journey home. This helps to minimize any swelling as much as possible.
