When can I return to work?

Most people return to work after about 5 days. However, this depends on the type of job you have. A quiet office job can usually be resumed sooner than a physically demanding or intensive job. Light household tasks are also allowed after that. Heavy physical activity (including lifting) should be avoided during the first two weeks.

The timeframes mentioned are averages; you may feel ready sooner, or your recovery may take a bit longer.

Medication use – should I follow the instructions?

Yes, we advise you to follow the medication guidelines, especially during the first few days. You will receive a medication overview in the bag you take home.

In the first days after the procedure, you may take two Paracetamol (500 mg) tablets every 4–6 hours. On the day of the procedure, we will give you a prescription for additional pain relief (Tramadol). You can take this prescription to your own pharmacy.

If Paracetamol alone does not provide enough relief, you may also take one Tramadol tablet alongside it. Starting the day after the procedure, Tramadol can be replaced with Ibuprofen.
