Insurance coverage Labiaplasty insurance coverage When your inner labia extend several centimeters beyond your outer labia, it can be painful or uncomfortable — for example, during sports or sexual activity. Noticeably large labia can also lead to feelings of self-consciousness, similar to how some people feel about having protruding ears; while there may be no significant functional problems, not everyone feels confident or happy with it. If you want to do something about it, that’s entirely your choice — it’s your body, and the decision is yours alone. Unlike ear correction surgery, which is covered by the basic health insurance in the Netherlands for children up to 12 years of age, a labiaplasty is only covered if there is a case of severe deformity due to mutilation, illness, accident, or a medical error. In most cases, this does not apply, which means the procedure must be paid for out of pocket. Complaints such as pain while cycling or during intercourse are unfortunately not accepted by health insurers as valid reasons for reimbursement. Vaginal tightening insurance coverage Unfortunately, vaginal tightening is never covered by insurance — no matter how difficult that may be to understand. Nipple correction insurance coverage Unfortunately, nipple corrections are also never covered by insurance.
